Welcome to the Jubilee of Mercy portal for the Diocese of Austin!

"Therefore, I have decided to announce an Extraordinary Jubilee which has at its center the mercy of God. It will be a Holy Year of Mercy. We want to live in the light of the word of the Lord: "Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful" (cf. Lk 6:36)...This Holy Year will commence on the next Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception and will conclude on Sunday, 20 November 2016, the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe and living face of the Father's mercy..."

Pope Francis, March 13, 2015

In this exciting Jubilee Year, the Diocese of Austin invites you to discover the many ways of receiving, understanding, and sharing God's great mercy. Here you will find all sorts of resources and information for yourself, your family, and your parish.

On Sunday, December 13, 2015, Pope Francis blessed and opened the Holy Door of the Basilica of St. John Lateran in Rome.  Holy doors were also blessed and opened in all the cathedrals of the world, including St. Mary’s in Austin, and at our other four diocesan pilgrimage sites:  Sacred Heart in Waco, Holy Trinity in Corn Hill, St. Joseph in Mason, and St. Mary’s in College Station.  To see photos from these events, and for more information on pilgrimage for the Jubilee Year, click here.
